A former Super Eagles coach, Samson Saisia, says he is optimistic that the Super Eagles can win their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Sudan on Saturday.
Saisia told the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja that with enough motivation and team work, the Eagles would win the match.
“I believe the players and officials know what is at stake. I am also happy that the Nigeria Football Federation has settled down after the election, so efforts will be geared toward winning the match,’’ he said.
He noted that the Eagles had the potential to win and urged the team to work extra hard to get the three points at stake.
“I believe that there is nothing impossible as far as the Super Eagles are concerned because most times, we come in from a difficult terrain and then see ourselves through.
“We want to believe that such will also be our portion this time. But, all of us really have to work together. The NFA, the technical crew and the players really have to work together to achieve this feat,’’ the coach said.
NAN reports that Sudan will host Nigeria on Saturday in continuation of the qualifying series for the 2015 AFCON.
The return leg of the fixture will take place in Nigeria on October 15.
